Senior Living Company pens open letter

In response to more states releasing specific numbers regarding COVID-19 cases at long-term care facilities across the U.S., a major senior living provider has penned an “open letter to America” stating that “numbers aren’t the whole picture.”

“Now is not a time for negativity, rather, it is time for us as an industry, and as a nation to rally together in solidarity, standing strong for our most vulnerable population, our seniors, and those heroic workers who serve proudly as their caregivers. They have faces, they have stories, and they have families and loved ones,” the letter states.

The letter comes from Affinity Living Group (ALG), a North Carolina-based senior living provider with roughly 160 communities across six states, but company officials said it is intended to be shared and used across all senior living communities in the nation.

“We’ve got to stand together, support each other and really work to combat the negativity,” a spokesperson for ALG said about the letter. “Transparency and communication are essential, but we also need to focus on the individuals affected during this time. “
